The First Dedicated Bat Hospital in Ireland is in County Limerick!
Bats got a bad rep last year in the media - Susan Kirwan wants to change that perception.
Susan set up the 'Bat Rehabilitation Centre' last year in County Limerick out the back of her house where she has treated 156 bats and has rehabilitated 110 and has re-released them back into the wild.
Bat Rehabilitation Ireland is a not for profit organization. Susan doesn't work alone and is part of an important network of rehabbers all over Ireland. She works with organizations like Hogsprickle, Kildare Wildlife Unit, and many individual volunteers who give their time to help bats and wildlife.
Susan set up a Go Fund me page to help with the costs of running the bat hospital and she also has a Facebook page set up for people to follow her journey.
