Ellen Tuffy Chairperson of Down Syndrome Limerick joined Louise on Spin Now.
Down Syndrome Limerick is a small local charity that supports children and adults with Down Syndrome in the South West region. They provide essential therapies like Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy as well as
counselling, peer support, education programmes for adults, and social events for our members.
The charity is run by parents who volunteer their time to better the lives of their children.
As with many other charities at this time, our fundraising has been severely and adversely affected by the Covid crisis.
Their members have received no therapies or supports since services were closed in March. In an effort to raise some funds for the charity and to support members the charity have organised a virtual run/walk – a half marathon in a half month (DSL 21K Virtual Run/Walk) Participants can register for the event at www.DSL21K.com.
The event starts on May 25th and the 21km must be completed anytime from then until June 14th.
