Noeline Blackwell CEO of the Rape Crisis Centre joined Lousie to share information on their Moving Forward programme.
Developed in partnership with an English online platform which has extensive experience of guiding counselling online in a very supportive way, this offers a self-help, 6 module programme supported by a telephone coach to assist the survivors of sexual violence in progressing with their lives that in a time of lockdown required no adaptation and no disruption.
Though the programme has the capacity to help thousands, it is expensive to run which is why the DRCC are engaging in initiatives such as Cook Up a Storm - a culinary social media movement which has seen Irish personalities including Derry Clarke, Rosanna Davison, Jake Carter, Sir Ian Botham and Ken Doherty post their favourite recipes in a bid to encourage all of us to #CookwithDRCC, donate, nominate and potentially win lots of great prizes as provided by the charities, generous contributors.
