The UK has banned personal food imports for meat and dairy products from Europe.
New measures have come into force, banning imports of things like beef, cheese and butter for personal use.
The UK Government says the measures, "are to protect farmers from the spread of foot and mouth disease, though there are currently no cases in the UK."
Importantly, there are different rules in Northern Ireland, which still allow animal products to be brought in from the EU.
What's Banned?
- Filled sandwiches (with meat or cheese in them, just bread is fine!)
- Dairy: so yoghurt, cheese, milk products.
- Fruit and vegetables.
- Nuts
- Seeds
What's NOT Banned?
- Bread (unfilled).
- Cakes without fresh cream.
- Biscuits.
- Chocolate or other confectionary, but "not those made with a lot of unprocessed dairy ingredients."
- Pasta and noodles, as long as they're not packed with meat.
- Packaged soups or stocks or other flavourings.
- Processed and packaged plant products - for example a packed salad or frozen plant based food.
- Food supplements with a small amount of animal product - for example fish oil caps.
