Senior Police Officers from Dubai met with the Garda Commissioner in Dublin this morning.
They are on a week long visit to the country to work with Gardaí to tackle the Kinahan cartel.
Commissioner Drew Harris says officers from Dubai have already provided great assistance and the visit will advance that co-operation.
The Commissioner also says these organised crime gangs cause misery not just in the country they are from but across the globe.
Foreign Affairs Minister Micheál Martin says it's good to work together:
"Sharing information, sharing intelligence, I welcome the co-operation between our police forces and those in other jurisdictions, including the UAE," he said.
The Tánaiste also said as its a justice, "police-lead" matter, Government doesn't "get involved" in the "operational details."
He did say embassies often "facilitate" contact "more generally."
