A man in his forties is due in court this evening, in connection with a fatal assault.
A man has died in a fatal assault in Limerick over the weekend.
Yesterday morning, 42-year-old Ger Curtin was found unresponsive on Sarfield Avenue in Garryowen, just before 5am.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance staff.
Another man in his 40s was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
He has now been charged and is now due to appear before a special sitting of Ennis District Court.
