Mason Greenwood will be leaving Manchester United.
The 21 year-old forward was the subject of an internal investigation.
It was into the allegations of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault.
The full statement is here.
United's chief executive Richard Arnold has also written an open letter to supporters.
Greenwood himself released a statement re-iterating his innocence, he has always denied criminal charges.
He also said he was "cleared of all charges," which is not technically correct.
The charges were dropped in February.
At the time. Britain's Crown Prosecution Service said:
"A combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light meant there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction"
Mason Greenwood's denied any wrongdoing, although accepts he "made mistakes" in his relationship.
Greenwood Statement:
The 21 year old goes on to say the "best decision for us all" is for him to play football elsewhere.
Manchester United said that decision was "mutually agreed."
The club also said it will work with him to "achieve that outcome," [playing football elsewhere.]
Reports
This comes just a few days after the online publication The Athletic ran a story claiming a plan was being put in place to re-integrate the player.
Manchester United, on the same day, said no decisions had been made.
