Clare TD Joe Carey has been admitted to the hospital, and is currently 'lying on a trolley.'
Joe was brought to University Hospital Limerick on Saturday evening.
Posting on Twitter, Deputy Carey says he called for help after struggling to breathe for 30 minutes.
A 'battery of tests' have been lined up for him, and he says this is ironic because he gave up smoking just under a month ago.
However, Joe is hopeful that it is a simple lung infection, and that he'll be back to full health soon.
Mr Carey says he's getting 'great care' despite being stuck on a trolley at UHL.
