The Communications Minister wants to extend the TV Licence fee to anyone who owns a PC, laptop or tablet.
According to the Irish Independent, an extra €5million a year could be raised by extending the fee to devices with screens bigger than 11 inches.
The move means people who don't even have a TV would have to pay the €160 charge.
Nearly 1 in 10 households no longer own a tv, but streaming services online means people can still access content.
