Vaccine passports may be used to ensure the return of live events including gigs as well as indoor dining.
From next week Digital Covid Certs will start to be issued to fully vaccinated people.
They'll Be Ready By The 19th
The July 19th date's looming for the resumption of international travel.
So Transport Minister Eamon Ryan says digital Covid certs will issue for some 1.8 million people next week:
"We've a variety of different forms."
"From next week we'll start issuing them by post and by email."
"For everyone who needs them for international travel - they'll be there in time."
"They'll be there by July 19th."
Can We Use Them For Dining Or Gigs?
People who have had Covid, and wish to travel, will have to apply to the HSE.
While those who registered on the online portal for a vaccine will be emailed their cert.
People who have been vaccinated in pharmacies and GPs will get it through the post.
Work is ongoing to see if the passports can be used to give access to indoor dining.

When Live Events Are Back, They Should Stay Back
Arts and Culture Minister Catherine Martin says it may be applied to more events too:
"The work we're doing within hospitality could be transferred over to music."
"I want it [live events] to re-open, I want it to re-open for good when we do that."
However, despite QR codes appearing on the certs, there are concerns in government that un-vaccinated people will be able to duplicate the paper versions.
