Up to 450 leaving cert students will be offered a higher preference CAO choice.
It's after the Department of Education found a number of errors with the calculated grades process.
CAO Received Information Over The Weekend
The Department of Education gave the file containing the corrected results to the CAO on Saturday.
It reviewed the data and distributed it to the relevant third level institutions yesterday.
Somewhere between 400 and 450 leaving cert students will be getting a new third level offer this week.
Chair of the board of the CAO is Professor Pól Ó Dochartaigh.
He was afraid the number would be three times that.
Meanwhile, he said "I'd be fairly optimistic that all of those offers, or almost all of those offers now at this stage, given that the numbers are lower than anticipated, can be accommodated."
14,000 incorrect grades.

Updated Offers May Be Ready On Thursday
Additionally, the CAO hopes to be in a position to publish offers on Thursday morning.
So students who receive a new offer will then need to decide whether to change course now.
Also, they can defer the offer or continue studying on their existing course.
