University of Limerick
There are calls for the University of Limerick to stop accepting students until it has adequate services in place.
The Students' Union has hit out at new on-campus twin rooms which are being provided in rooms that were originally built for one person.

UL says the rooms are being introduced due to demand, and they will be up to 45 per cent cheaper than standard rooms.
The accommodation which has been described as 'cramped' will cost between €2,800 and €4,250 per person per year.
So the University of Limerick has decided to hike rent rates by 3.5% and force any 2nd & 3rd years who want to live on-campus into really cramped potential unsafe accommodation designed for only one person
Thanks for exploiting students guys!

In a statement UL says:
The option for twin (sharing) will be significantly cheaper – in some cases up to 45% cheaper - and offer a reduced price point for on-campus accommodation that has not previously existed.
It will also represent some of the cheapest on-campus accommodation in the country.
A maximum of two bedrooms within an existing six-bedroom apartment in four of the villages will be retrofit for the shared accommodation (twin room) option. These will all be en-suite.
The planned twin room development is compliant with Part B of the Functional Requirements of Building Regulations.
UL’s accommodation allocation policy will prioritise the most vulnerable students – incoming first year students, international students and those in final year.
