The UN estimates that 874,000 refugees have fled Ukraine in the past couple of days.
It includes more than 450,000 that have crossed the border into Poland.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Ukraine's second largest city, Kharkiv, says it will not surrender to Russian forces - as it comes under repeated attack.
At least 21 people died in shelling earlier - and another four were killed from air and rocket strikes, according to emergency services.
Russia claims it's captured the southern port city of Kherson.
The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy remains defiant.
"Just think about this figure, almost 6,000 Russians died."
"Russian servicemen."
"Within six days of war, a figure without the enemy's losses from last night."
"6,000."
"To receive what?"
"To receive Ukraine?"
"That's impossible."
The Ukrainian armed forces update on Russia’s war puts the level of Russian military casualties (“losses”) at 5,840. But it says this is preliminary figure & TBC. It says calculating figures on Russian losses “is complicated by the intensity of the combat actions”
