Two year old girl dies
A two year old girl has died after she was found with serious injuries at an apartment in Cork City.
Emergency services were called to a property at Boreenmanna Road just before half five this morning.
Gardaí were called to an apartment on the Boreenamanna road in Cork City at around 20 past 5 this morning and found a two year old girl with serious injuries.
The toddler was brought to Cork University Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Gardaí have launched an investigation and an incident room has been set up at Anglesea Street Garda station.
A technical examination of the apartment is being carried out.
The office of the state pathologist has been notified and a post mortem is being arranged.
Gardaí say the results of the post mortem will determine the course of the investigation.
No arrests have been made at this time.
