The scene where a man was shot dead in West Dublin last night remains sealed off.
A major security operation is underway after a man in his thirties, was shot in the head outside a house at Blakestown Cottages in Blanchardstown.
Gardaí say at least two people were involved in last night's fatal attack and are looking for the person who carried out the the shooting and a getaway driver.
The scene remains sealed off for a technical examination and the body has been brought to the city mortuary.
A second scene in nearby Clonee is also being preserved where a a Volkswagon Jetta was found burnt out - Gardaí believe it may be connected to the earlier shooting.
They are asking anyone with information on the attack to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station.
