Irish men charged with attempted murder
Two Irish men charged with attempted murder are due to appear in court in Melbourne this weekend.
It's after a former police detective was shot in the face last Thursday.
After a two day manhunt and an appeal on Crimestoppers, 30 year old Mark Dixon and 26 year old Jack Harvey were arrested near Byron Bay on Wednesday.
It's after 53 year old ex police detective Sid Morgan was found injured on the street near his house in Melbourne.
He had suffered a gunshot wound to the head and is still in a critical condition in hospital.
Local reports say that Morgan may have been shot during a dispute involving tradesmen chasing an unpaid debt.
The Irish men have appeared at Byron Bay Local Court charged with attempted murder.
They're to be extradited to Melbourne to appear in court there on Saturday.
