Trinity College announced today that it is shelved the recently introduced €450 repeat exam fee.
Students reacted to this new introduction by protesting earlier this month for the fees to return to normal, as many cannot afford to shell out nearly €500 to repeat an exam.
Dozens of students occupied the Dining Hall with the #TakeTrinityBack campaign.
The annoucement was made by Dr Patrick Prendergast, he said;
"I undertook that we would seriously consider alternative proposals, and we have done so.
"I look forward to continuing the dialogue with student representatives to find a solution to the issues confronting Irish higher education, taking account of both fairness to all students and the College’s financial position."
