Food experts are calling a viral TikTok trend a vehicle for disordered eating.
The What I Eat in a Day format shows creators' daily food intake, while sometimes displaying calorie counts and before and after body comparisons.
Food challenges and strict diets are often staples of the popular clips.
Niamh Orbinski, Nutritionist and Intuitive Eating Counsellor, says the trend could damage the platform's young audience
"Teenagers are growing and they need more food than most teenagers think they need.
"They need more than the standard adult because they're in this period of growth where they need a lot of energy to support that process."
CONTENT FILTERS
Tik Tok is introducing content filters so users won't be getting videos they don't want to see.
The Chinese social media giant hopes it would be used by vulnerable people to block out diet videos or extreme fitness.
Users will also be able to tell the algorithm they're not interested in particular content.
