As a result of the Storm Barra effects - many businesses in Cork and Kerry are without power.
Sinead Ryan of the Imperial Hotel in Cork is one of those caught in the thick of it this morning.
She said they had to get flood barriers in place before the water flooded the hotel.
"It just stops the lobby flooding and the cafe. The last time it flooded ... it went up past my ankles."
A red warning comes into effect for Co. Clare this afternoon, with counties on the East Coast under an orange warning.
