Tesco Ireland Lauches Annual Christmas Food Appeal
Television presenter and mum of two, Laura Woods, has teamed up with Tesco Ireland to launch this year’s Christmas Food Appeal, in partnership with FoodCloud.
Tesco is calling on its customers to support local community groups by contributing to its annual Christmas Food Appeal in stores during Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th December.
Tesco’s Christmas Food Appeal collects non-perishable food or household items donated by customers in stores to support community groups that they work with through a partnership with FoodCloud.
The campaign encourages shoppers to purchase an additional item during their trip to select Tesco stores and donate it to the Christmas Appeal Trolley located in store on their way out.
Customers are asked to pick up non-perishable foods (e.g. tea bags, pasta and rice, breakfast cereals, and tinned goods) and household necessities (e.g. toiletries, nappies, small clothing items, and toys); and all of the items will be given to over 150 local community groups throughout the FoodCloud network, who will in turn distribute it to local families in need.
The participating stores in county Clare are:
Ennis and Kilrush.
Tesco was the first national retailer to partner with FoodCloud in 2014, working to ensure no good food goes to waste. Since 2014, Tesco has donated over 14.5 million meals to more than 380 community groups throughout Ireland.
