A Government TD has accused cabinet Ministers of not doing their jobs properly.
That's when it comes to managing the pandemic.
There's significant anger among TDs over the delaying of the re-opening of indoor dining.
Meeting with Government
“A fair and workable solution needs to be devised to ensure that there is a final plan announced for reopening restaurants, cafes and pubs on 19th July.”— Adrian Cummins 🇮🇪🇪🇺 (@adriancummins) June 30, 2021
Government TDs Are Furious
Cabinet Ministers say they were blindsided by recommendations from NPHET.
So that was to allow indoor dining for vaccinated people only.
Also, to delay re-opening until that can be done.
Many Government backbenchers are furious at the move.
They're also annoyed at the communications, including Fianna Fáil's John McGuinness:
"They're doing it on the fly, they're doing it as they go along."
He says, "they're not doing their job at Cabinet in managing the country, they're not doing it very well."
Deputy McGuinness says Ministers should have known the Delta variant would cause concern.
"They should have brought the sector along with them."
"Are you happy with the Health Minister?"
"No I'm not. His style of management has to change dramatically"
John McGuinness very much sticking the boot in. He's not the only FF today who feels that way

"We Don't Want To Divide" - Taoiseach
Taoiseach Micheál Martin faces a tough time at his party meeting tonight.
However, in the Dáil, he's defended the delay, over fears of the Delta variant:
"The only motivation the Government has is to protect, not divide society."
"We want to protect society."
The Taoiseach says other world leaders are also concerned.
He says he's had a conversation with Scotland's Nicola Sturgeon.
She said the Delta variant will rip through unvaccinated people.
