Taxi fares
Taxi fares are set to increase by 4.5%.
The National Transport Authority is proposing the rise because the cost of operating a taxi has risen by 4% since 2017.
The NTA also plans to make paying by card standard practice in all taxis.
The NTA says:
"Strong economic growth has had a positive implication for the taxi industry over the past two years."
"NTA estimates that the cost of operating a taxi has increased by about 4% since 2017.
"The increase in maximum fares of 4.5% covers both this increase, and the cost associated with the provision of card payment facilities."
Any changes would take effect early in 2020.
