Micheál Martin speaks to US President-Elect Joe Biden by phone
The Taoiseach has invited the US President-Elect Joe Biden to Ireland.
Micheál Martin spoke to the former Vice President to Barack Obama on the phone, following his win in the election.
10 out of Joe Biden's 16 great-grandparents were born in Ireland, and he has distant relatives in Ballina, Co Mayo and Cooley in Co Louth.

Mr Biden has been a vocal supporter of the Good Friday Agreement in Northern Ireland.
The transition team for Mr Biden and the Vice President-elect Kamala Harris confirmed the conversation with the Taoiseach, along with other European leaders.

Counting is still ongoing in the election in some states, however it's projected he will defeat current President Donald Trump.
