Sulky race
A Garda investigation is underway after a sulky race took place on a motorway in Dublin.
A video has been posted on social media of the race which is believed to have taken place over the weekend.
Cars, vans and horse and carts can be seen taking up four lanes of the N7 near Citywest.
Gardaí in Rathcoole are appealing to anyone with information to get in touch.
I'm sorry, but this ain't our culture and I challenge every Traveller org in the country to call this crap out. Yes, sulkies are part of a tradition held by SOME, but ANIMAL WELFARE and road user SAFETY must supersede everything else. I don't care who it offends, this is wrong. pic.twitter.com/VRDQLOAZAD

Independent TD Mattie McGrath says the races need to be banned, for the sake of horses and other road users:
"It's farcical in 2020 that this is allowed"
"It's farcical that the political parties haven't the gumption to deal with it or legislate for it".
