A young girl who asked for an abortion was sectioned in a psychiatric unit according to a new report.
According to the Irish Times, The Child Care Law Reporting Project has been looking at how children are treated in our legal system.
It's found that one girl was detained under the mental health act after being told by a psychiatrist that an abortion was 'not the solution' to her problems.
However a few days later, a second doctor said there was 'no evidence of a psychological disorder'.
The girl was later discharged.
