Storm Francis will make landfall in Ireland overnight, with the worst of the weather coming tomorrow afternoon.
Heavy rain with the potential for flash floods is forecast tonight as Storm Francis makes landfall.
An orange level warning come into effect at 9pm for 12 counties in Connacht, the North and South.
The rest of the country will be under a yellow rainfall warning.
A yellow alert also comes into place tomorrow morning for strong winds in Munster, Wexford, Wicklow and Dublin.
Meanwhile Met Éireann is also expecting some surface flooding, with river levels potentially rising above the banks.
Forecaster Liz Coleman explains that rivers are a concern too.
"We're not concerned from a coastal flooding perspective because we're at low tide."
"But we're more concerned with river levels."
"They'll become elevated with this rainfall event."
"So there's a risk of some river flooding with this rainfall event."

Strong Winds Could Knock More Trees Down
Alan O' Reilly from Carlow weather says the worst of the conditions will be tomorrow afternoon:
"The problem is that it'll be during daylight hours and peaking around lunchtime in some areas tomorrow."
"So that's going to have some strong winds with what we saw from Storm Ellen - fallen trees and etc."
"But it's not quite to the level that we saw from Storm Ellen."
"It is at a level at this time of the year, when trees are at full leaf, that you'd expect fallen trees and power outages."
