Storm 'Aileen' is set to hit Ireland this afternoon with motorists being warned to “exercise caution” as gusts of up to 110km/h are predicted to sweep across the south west.
Met Eireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for of all of Munster and from Galway all the way accross to the capital
A forecaster from Met Eireann revealed: “A deepening depression – Storm Aileen – is expected to track eastwards across the centre of Ireland – Galway to Dublin – this evening with a band of very strong winds on its southern and western flanks, which will affect counties of the southwest, south and parts of the east coast later.
This warning is in play from 2 pm until midnight.
