Stay at home parent has been added to Linked In as a job title.
It means people that have left the workforce to raise children won't have a gap on their CV.
It's one of a number of new features added to Linked In for Irish users.
Parent And Homemaker Also Added To LinkedIn
These children believe their parents are hard at work and now LinkedIn does too.
Stay at home mom, stay at home dad, parent and homemaker, have all been added as job titles to the social network.
The new feature will allow users to accurately reflect their time spent away from the workforce.
Green Party Senator Pauline O'Reilly is founder of The Stay at Home Parents Association Ireland.
She says people are becoming more and more aware of the importance the role holds.
These parents are doing "unrecognised" work all day every day.

LinkedIn has also added a new name pronunciation feature.
That allows you to upload an audio recording of how to pronounce your name.
You can now add your gender pronouns and upload a video cover story.
That showcases your skills, career goals and expertise.
