This Study by US anti smoking group Truth initiative shows a major increase in the depictions of tobacco on TV going from 79% to 92% in just one year.
It found that Netflix depicted more smoking imagery than other streaming services and broadcast shows and that figure is rising.
Stranger things was the worst offender with 100% of episodes in a season with at least one tobacco depiction.
Orange is the New Black was the second worst offender on Netflix followed by House of cards while The Walking Dead showed the most smoking on broadcast and cable TV
In a statement Netflix says it promises to cut back on the amount of smoking it shows going forward
