The figures on alcohol come from an annual report by Drinks Ireland.
People consumed 6.6% less alcohol last year due to the effects of the pandemic.
It comes under a period where many pubs and restaurants were closed for several months.
The review has also looked at Ireland's favourite beverages as well as our drinking regularity.
Beer remains our favourite alcoholic drink but sales declined by 17% over the last year.

The country's second favourite alcoholic beverage is wine due to its association with the home.
Sales of spirits, the third most favoured choice, dropped by 5% over the pandemic.
Ireland's fourth most popular choice is cider according to the report.
Drinks Ireland are calling on the government to keep pubs and restaurants open for the foreseeable.
The hospitality industry sold over 30% less beer compared to 2020 - despite that year suffering from closures too.
