A climate action protest will take place in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Belfast this afternoon.
There are calls for immediate government action on climate change, habitat destruction, and the over-exploitation of natural resources.
A number of political parties including Sinn Féin, Labour, the Green Party and People Before Profit are supporting the demonstration.
The protest is in a display of solidarity with the Extinction Rebellion movement in the UK.
STAND UP! Come and join us at the #ExtinctionRebellion! We assemble at Saturday, 1:30pm, #Cork City Hall.
From there, we will take (family-friendly) action to highlight the crises of extinction and climate change in Cork city centre. 📢
