People will be allowed to travel anywhere within their county from Monday.
That goes beyond the planned extension to 20 kilometres.
Cabinet Ministers met this morning to approve the new measures.
20 kilometres was the original plan but that didn't make much difference for people living in rural Ireland.
It's understood the government has also approved scrapping the movement limit entirely from the end of June.
They have also discussed proposals to open hotels and pubs earlier, to take advantage of the summer season.

Meanwhile people are allowed visit each other's homes in small groups too, from Monday.
As long as social distancing is kept up.
It's expected playgrounds will re-open - and that there will be announcements on summer camps and visitation to nursing homes.
