There is growing opposition to proposals for a motorway between Cork and Limerick.
It's claimed the current plans are too expensive, and will impact negatively on some businesses.
The proposed M20 motorway has been in the pipeline for more than 10 years.
It has suffered various setbacks, but now as it looks to finally get the green light there has been growing objections to the project.
The Transport Minister Eamon Ryan told the Oireachtas Committee recently that it could cost between €2 billion and €3 billion.
Brian Hyde, Chairperson of the Cork-Limerick Alliance Group, thinks the N24 between Limerick and Waterford should be upgraded instead.
"The actual direct traffic between Limerick and Cork is 3,000 vehicles a day," he said.
"Therefore you'd be moving a certain percent of that traffic on to the N24 and connect onto the M8 at Cahir".
The final route of the project is expected to be revealed later this year.
