A woman has died after a sword attack at a house in Blanchardstown, West Dublin.
Gardaí have arrested a sixty year old man in connection with the incident.
It took place at around midday today.
The 57 year old's remains were found after Gardaí and members of the Armed Support Unit arrived at the house at Willow Wood.
Also, the man was arrested at the scene, he's being held under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
He can be held for up to 48 hours.
It's believed that the he knew the victim.
Sword Attack: Post Mortem Due Tomorrow
The woman's remains remained at the scene for a period of time.
That was to allow the State Pathologist time to arrive.
Murder Investigation Expected
Gardai say they are following a definite line of inquiry.
While a murder investigation is expected to be launched.
That will be depending on the results of a post mortem.
It is due be carried out in the morning.
