The former NFL star has been in prison for almost 9 years, after he was found guilty of armed robbery in 2008, when he and associates broke into a Las Vegas casino hotel room.
A number of memorabilia, which Simpson claimed was his, was stolen from the scene.
Before that, he was found 'not guilty' of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman after they were found with stab wounds in 1994.
The case, which was dubbed 'The Trial Of The Century' gained huge traction around the world, with over 100 million people tuning in for it.
The entire case was then subject of an American Crime Story series, which was named 'The People Vs OJ Simpson.
The series, which is available on Netflix, had an all-star cast. Cuba Gooding Jr starred as OJ, as he fought and worked with his so-called legal 'Dream Team' of Rob Shapiro (John Travolta), Robert Kardashian (David Schwimmer) and Johnnie Cochran (Courtney B. Vance) against hard-as-nails prosecuter Marcia Clark (Sarah Paulson) in the double murder trial.
