The number of people who've had their drink spiked has nearly doubled this year.
Gardaí say there were 40 cases in the first nine months of this year - compared to 22 in all of 2021.
24 people were also spiked with a needle between January and September.
Noeline Blackwell, from Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, says this is a very new phenomenon.
"Over the last couple of years reports have started to come into the Gardaí and indeed in other countries as well, of people using needles to inject some form of drug into people."
She says this is "with a view to making them unwell or paralyzing them temporarily or whatever."
