Northern Ireland laws
The British Parliament has approved proposals to legalise same-sex marriage and decriminalise abortion in Northern Ireland unless a devolved government is formed by the 21st of October.
The amendments were passed overwhelmingly by MPs this afternoon.
Northern Ireland is the only part of the United Kingdom where gay marriage and abortion are banned.
It has been without a functioning Government since January 2017.
If it is restored, Stormont will have the power to overturn or amend the new laws.
