The Government is set to examine ways to strengthen laws on the use of drones.
Defence Minister, Paul Kehoe, has labelled those who used them close to a gorse fire in Wicklow on Friday, as irresponsible.
It meant the Air Corp has to suspend its attempts to assist in tackling a blaze on Bray head.
Minister Kehoe has spoken to the Minister for Justice with a view to changing the law on drone use,
He says their use on Friday, could have had a detrimental impact: "What happened on Friday evening is both shocking and irresponsible behaviour by the user of these drones and had a drone hit one of the helicopters I believe there could have been a detrimental impact on the people onboard the helicopter."
