The Environment Minister is giving his full backing for plans to allow up to 3,000 diners in Temple Bar.
Dublin City Council's set to receive the plans for outdoor dining on 17 streets.
They propose using outdoor tables and chairs to accommodate up to 3,000 people.
Pedestrian squares, loading bays, road and path space would all be used.
According to the Irish Times, Fleet Street would have the largest number of diners at 820.
But can all this be done safely? – Environment Minister Eamon Ryan believes it can.
"It's a fairly extensive area, Temple Bar," he says.
Adding to that, the fact that these people dining will be outdoors makes it safe.
"So I think it does make sense."

More Outdoors Could Mean More Litter
More people outside could lead to more litter which has been a problem in Dublin in recent weeks.
Minister Ryan has allocated €5 million euro nationwide for more bins and awareness campaigns.
Those are to get people to dispose of their rubbish carefully.
Bernie Lewis, is a litter prevention officer with Dublin City Council.
"We've placed extra bins and barrels out in places we've received complaints about."
Bernie's happy that no complaints arrived last weekend, though that could be down to the cold weather.
She says a combination of extra bins and signage with "Leave No Trace," style slogans is in place.
Meanwhile the plans for Temple Bar will now be submitted to Dublin City Council.
The Council which last year refused to allow street furniture in parts of the area.
