The sun was shortlived!
Met Éireann issued a status yellow snow-ice warning for 10 counties today.
With scattered thunderstorms, hailstones and snow expected this week for parts of Ireland, Met Éireann has now confirmed that a status yellow snow-ice warning.
Luckily the warning is not affecting the South West.
The warning is in place for Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford and Louth.
it was issued at 11am on 1 April, comes into effect at 12.01am on Tuesday and is valid until 12pm on 3 April.

We would say this is an April fool's but its noticeably colder today across the country.
