McDonald's shut their doors
McDonald's have announced they're closing all of their restaurants across the UK and Ireland.
The fast food outlet announced the news on social media last night saying all branches will close by 7pm today, March 23rd.
The franchise had originally made the decision to close the seating area across all of their UK and Ireland restaurants.
They remained open for takeaway, Drive Thru and McDelivery only.
However, with the growing spread of coronavirus, they've made the decision to shut their doors until further notice.
In their statement, McDonald's say this is not a decision they've taken lightly.
However, it's in the best interest of both their customers and their employees.
The franchise insist they'll continue to work with local community groups, 'to distribute food and drink from our restaurants...'
They go on to thank their, 'brilliant employees during this incredibly challenging time.'
'We look forward to seeing you all again as soon as it is safe for us to reopen.'
