Manchester United have sacked Jose Mourinho.
The Red Devils says a caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the season.
During that time they will conduct a recruitment process for a new full-time boss.
The news comes less than 48 hours after United's 3-1 defeat to Liverpool.
The result has left the club 19 points adrift of the Premier League leaders and 11 points behind fourth-place Chelsea in the race for Champions League qualification.
Laurent Blanc and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are among the latest names being linked with the vacant Manchester United manager's post.
United hope to have a temporary coach installed in the next 48 hours, but the role won't be filled on permanent basis until the summer.
Former United defender Blanc has managed the France national team and Paris St Germain.
Solskjaer is currently manager of Molde in Norway, but had a difficult spell at Cardiff in 2014, when he failed to keep the Welsh club in the Premier League.
