A man in his 20s has been arrested after trying to set Gardaí on fire in Kildare.
It happened in Newbridge Garda Station , when a man entered the public office.
He began to spray suspected petrol on himself and at least two Gardaí.
However he was restrained as he attempted to light the liquid.

Frank Thornton's the the president of the Garda Representative Association.
He says it's a very disturbing and traumatic incident:
"This is yet another example of the dangers and exposure that frontline Gardai face while we're on duty."
"The unique and unpredictable nature of our own duty."
"It's very sobering for us and our colleagues, and the public."
Frank adds, "it's a clear indicator of the unpredictable nature of working as a Garda, and our role in society."
