Short-term lets are dominating the market in most towns and villages.
A local councillor has highlighted the problem of a lack of rental accommodation in parts of Ireland.
Housing crisis aside, it's becoming more and more scarce to rent near coastal towns and villages popular with holidaymakers.
West Clare councillor Cillian Murphy says young people and families are competing with tourists for houses.
He says it's evident in tourist towns and villages in rural Ireland in particular.

Fianna Fail Councillor Murphy explains one situation in his local town of Kilkee.
"An individual who I know very well, would have been involved in an awful lot of the organisations," he said.
"Had to leave Kilkee because he couldn't get a property to rent."
"That's a generational hit on our community because not just himself and his wife are gone but his three kids."
Housing Minister Darragh O'Brien has spoken about the need for wider regulation of the short-term rental market.
