Stephen Leahy from Social Democrats captured some dramatic scenes in Limerick City last night from midnight to the early hours of the morning.
The Debenhams picket line was disrupted by Gardai last night.
The peaceful protest was taking place as trucks instructed by KPMG attempted to clear stock from the store.
Entire streets were also blocked off with Gardai vehicles and physical presence.
“In my opinion it is absolutely appalling to have to witness our state police force used in this manner against workers staging a peaceful protest, especially when so many calls to Gardai in this city for other issues result in an inadequate response.
Workers need better protection and deserve more respect from our current government in particular” stated Social Democrat representative Stephen Leahy.
