Lidl is apparently planning to save up to 6hrs electricity by turning off the lights when stores close and having workers use head lights to see around the store.
In 2018 we will be upgrading the lighting in 100 of our stores to LED technology. This will reduce our carbon footprint, improve comfort levels in store & keep us moving towards a better tomorrow. To further reduce energy consumption, we are rolling out a new concept in stores pic.twitter.com/TgewdmqFB7

All store lighting will be turned off each morning before opening & again at night when the store is closed. Store teams will now wear a new LED head torch to aid them whilst packing out & completing tasks. On average 6hrs each day electricity will be saved.
