Leaving Cert students will know about their college places sooner.
Leaving Cert students will know 48 hours after getting their results if they have received an offer of a college place.
Previously there was a 5 day wait before the offers were made.
The move comes after the State Examinations Office made changes to speed up the appeals process for Leaving Cert grades.
The Irish Times reports the results will be out on August 13th this year.
The CAO offers will be made on the 15th of August.
