The Minister for Justice will seek Cabinet approval on the matter today.
Temporary laws allowing for alcohol to be served outdoors at pubs and restaurants have been extended.
They were initially introduced when businesses were forced outdoors due to Covid-19 restrictions.
It's being brought to Cabinet by Justice Minister Helen McEntee for an extension ahead of the summer.
The laws allow for the consumption of alcohol on public land such as footpaths.

The measures are set to be extended in a bid to help the hospitality industry recover.
Many pubs and restaurants suffered from periods of closures due to restrictions during the pandemic.
A longer-term solution will be decided upon to reform licencing laws going forward.
The extension of the outdoor legislation will be for another six months, according to reports.
