Landlord sexually harassed tenant
The Dáil has heard a claim that a Dublin landlord sexually harassed a tenant who couldn't afford the rent.
This is the rental sector in 2019 such is the power landlords have. Here are the original messages that I read from in the Dáil.#SexIsNotRent #dubw #metoo pic.twitter.com/zAIdmU6BW9

A Solidarity TD has read out text messages, reportedly sent to a woman renting a bedsit in the Rathmines area.
Ruth Coppinger is calling for research to find out how many renters have been put in similar situations.
I raised a case of a tenant who was asked for sex in return for rent. Housing crisis has meant many tenants are in a very vulnerable position. Surveys in other countries shows this as a growing trend. #SexIsNotRent #dubw #metoohttps://t.co/gNgmsCIABo

The Housing Minister has also called the messages "disgusting" and "reprehensible".
Eoghan Murphy described the texts as a "horrible thing for somebody to go through".
