Members of the Government made that decision earlier today following a recommendation from the National Public Health Emergency Team.
While they confirmed soon afterward that the situation in the county continues to improve.
So health officials believe Kildare has returned to a 'broadly similar' condition to the rest of Ireland.
While An Taoiseach Michael Martin paid tribute to the people of Kildare for their response to the measures.
Today’s decision to lift the additional Covid restrictions on County Kildare was only possible because of the people of Kildare - their extra effort, their sacrifices and their patience. And it worked. Numbers in Kildare now similar to rest of country. We must all stay vigilant.
